We live in a democracy. Every four years the people of America have the opportunity of voting for someone who best represents their political views and who they feel is best fit to run our country. Whoever is elected into office, has the power of implementing policies and regulations to help run the country smoother. Under the Obama administration, birth control is covered by all insurance companies with exceptions. However, under Trump s administration they are making plans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act that has the potential of not allowing full or partial coverage of birth control. Those type of views, makes the decision of covering contraceptives an issue throughout the nation. Outdated views and inaccurate knowledge drives the replacement of Obamacare. Furthermore, Planned Parenthood states, The Affordable Care Act is the federal health care reform bill that Congress passed and President Obama signed into law in 2010. Under this law, private health insurance plans are beginning to offer birth control and some other preventive services without co-pays or deductibles. The purpose of Obamacare was to give Medicaid coverage to the large amount of Americans with low-incomes by lowering the eligibility requirements. An exemption to this mandate is, houses of worship, but not including religious-based charities like private schools. If the religious based charities wishes to withdraw from the mandate they are required to provide a written form that would eventually lead to the involvement of the government.
